I found this fun little stop motion "Print is not dead" by Anthology Magazine (2010)

& Oh how lovely it is indeed.

I love her outfits and all her coloured tights and just everything in how this piece was put together. I really like the song too. Listen to the words. I think its funny.

as for Anthology (the magazine) I first came across her at a friends house, then sitting on an old wooden table at a store waiting to be picked up and delighted in.

I have never looked back since and with shoulders held high I would say it is by far my favourite magazine.

and this is what I think I love the most- this magazine began over a brunch of 2 friends (Meg and Anh-Minh) in a San Francisco Cafe over a shared appreciation for 'print'.

The Head & The Heart are a band from Seattle WA.
They performed at Calgary Folk Fest and this is when they came into my life.
I think our whole picnic blanket was in awe and with out words when they first began. Before I knew it right before my eyes was a field of people dancing and getting lost in their music.
A sight to behold.

These pink poodles can be found in the window of a sweet little store by the name of "Small Acorns"- a home and interiors boutique in Wellington -New Zealand.
This is what I love about this display...
Its bright, fun and playful
clever, innovative and light hearted.
The Dress is made out of Wellington maps and was inspired by the upcoming WOW- "World of Wearable Arts" competition- where the world of fashion and art collide.

Now "Water for Elephants" is by far one of the most visually breath taking films my eyes have ever seen and one of the most captivating stories that I have ever been told.

So this morning I went on a little adventure with my dear friend Lizy Loo.

We went to the Farmers Market where we found many eatable treats and I bought a raspberry macaroon~it will be my first since my trip to Paris~how will it compare I wonder!?

Then we headed to "Make it"- (the hand made revolution) where again we discovered some up coming talent and creative geniuses.
This was by far the pick of the day.

heydaydesign has been in love with vintage canning jars ever since finding their first ‘improved gem’ jar in the summer of 2008; since then, they've discovered an impressive array of styles in the cupboards and basements of our grandparents as well as, luckily, the odd thrift store.

These are a true delight and inspired me greatly.

I'm sorry for my blog neglect. Though better late than never. Wishing you a Happy Easter.
I hope your Easter weekend was full of Joy. Reflection and the ones that you hold closest to your hearts.
I went to my Church's morning service then spent the day at my Canadian families home and enjoyed a waffle buffet. We painted eggs and transformed Shane into a cartoon character with a play dough face. Then we had a huge Easter egg hunt in an empty and abandoned building.

Now I just wanted to share some thrilling things that I saw, discovered and experienced this past weekend.

It was a sweet Sunday afternoon and I got milkshakes with some friends of mine and then I went to Princess Island Park and my spirit was overwhelmed with many sweet things.

The Busyness of the park and how geese and ducks were plodding around and filling the sky. People cheerfully walking their dogs, bike riders merrily receiving the breeze on their faces and through their hair, children selling lemonade at a little stand to raise money for Haiti and an accordion player releasing kind melodies into the park air.

My heart sighs at days like these.

Oh Spring how I do long for you.

As it is meant to be in spring right now and clearly is not due to the never ending snow, I wanted to share some spring inspired photos to encourage us in or waiting.

Oh my goodness.

I was completely captivated and carried away with this little ladies dreamy artworks. Her name is Jill. Jill Labieniec. And what a talent she is.

She fills her work with bubble blowing pipes, Boys and Girls who I think are in love, sailboats and little french shop windows.

I will tell you of how I came across these treasures.

I was casually browsing and day dreaming-just minding my own business in the Anthropologie store in Seattle when I heard the sweet whisper of the staircase wall calling my name. Little did I know this work would completely steal my attention and my heart.

My eyes instantly attached to the wall and each piece of her art carried me up the staircase. I wanted to buy every piece of her work and let me just say- her art made my heart glad and put a sheer smile on my face.

I just came across this illustrator Claudia Pearson and how her work thrills me.

Claudia draws things like pots and pans, measuring cups, peaches and ice-cream and she adds in little things like the what amounts of sugar or spice you will need in order to complete this food creation.

She has a way of bringing 'everyday items to life with such intricacy and detail

and I love that.

Just by chance I stumbled across this sweet little cupcake cafe hidden in the back streets of New York City & what joy it brang to me. My heart leaped out of my chest and I had no choice but to follow her into this cafe.

I spoke with the owner (but I have forgotten his name-If you dear owner ever read this please forgive me- I am truly not good at remembering names unless it is written on paper)

-he told me some of the stories of his family and the shop and how it all began.

His wife makes and decorates all the cakes and is also a talented artist (picture of her work above).

We tried a butter cream chocolate and vanilla cupcake and boy was it superb.

So if you are ever in NY- pay him a visit, enjoy a cake and give him my regards.

New York is a fast paced, busy and rushed city though it has much to offer.

Here's a little story of my time in New york.

Though it was only a week, it was a week well spent.

It consisted of ...

Exploring streets and avenues & getting lost along the way- brilliant inconveniences one may say.

Watching musicals & being transported to those worlds in which were on stage.

Eating out at some fine and fancy places- while some were not so fine and fancy.

Dressing up and singing on a horse and carriage ride.

Exploring central park while being accompanied by the smell of roasting sugar nuts and the sweet music of a saxophonist.

Ferry rides to Statton Island and seeing the Statue of Liberty.

Hunting through Flee Markets and finding endless treasures.

Sitting and Dazing in quaint cafes and finding hidden art galleries.

My eyes almost exploding out of my head due to innovative and deliciously exquisite window displays by Anthropologie.

Seeing things Ive never seen before like ladders climbing up buildings & endless streets lined with hundreds of yellow taxis.

Climbing levels in the elevator of the Empire State Building & feeling just a glimpse of what a bird must feel when it fly's above the world.

Over all I'd say I had an enjoyable trip.

Tomorrow I embark on a week long adventure in the "Big Apple" which most of you will know as

It is my birthday and what better way to celebrate other than going to a city I only ever dreamed of.

It wasn't your average new years or what I'm used to- seeing as I'm in a complete different climate to Australia.

So I splurged from normal traditions and went tobogganing -amongst other fun festivities.

That eve where you watch your favourite Christmas movie- like "Home Alone" or the "Grinch". The eve where you go to houses that are overwhelmingly bright with Christmas lights and have children with sticky hands eating ice-cream and candy canes.

The eve where young hearts leave out treats for Santa and his reindeer's and wrestle falling asleep.

Well tonight I went to the VIP night at Anthropologie and boy was it buzzing. Red Velvet cupcakes, Strawberries and Pomegranates, cheeses array...how splendid and I bought some home wares which I'm sure Ill show you all soon.

But this book in particular I came across and now wish I bought..Peter Pan. Produced by Puffin- along with The Secret Garden, Wind in the Willows, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and a few others. Oh How I adore these.
